Young Adult

Being a young adult is awesome. It’s a time of exploring, discerning, and living into/out God’s call to each of us. That call is shaped by the people, events and experiences of our lives, as well as the decisions we make along the way.

It’s a time we get know ourselves better, deepen our relationship with God and others, and continue to grow personally, professionally, spiritually. Continuing to find communities of belonging, relationships, and connections with others who journey with us.

Called to witness with our lives, to evangelize, what God has done in and through us, we are invited to “let our actions speak louder than our words” and recognize our neighbors as our brothers and sisters on the margins.

Hopefully, it’s a time where we find “with God as the center of my life, I know whose I am and can begin to discover who I am.” In relationships, our work, values, gifts and talents, all of these make up aspects of God’s call in our lives.

We encourage you to participate in a variety of personal, professional, and spiritual activities to further your life of faith and vocational discernment, through:

  • Participation in parish and Church life, taking an active role in ministering
  • Service/volunteer experiences utilizing your gifts and talents for the benefit of others
  • Retreat experiences
  • Conferences or other events where you get to develop your gifts and talents

During young adulthood is also a time young men willing to continue to develop their spiritual life and who are generous and authentic in sharing their personal talents, often more intentionally discern and consider the Brothers’ vocation.

We invite you to consider this invitation to more intentionally discern with us by connecting with a vocation director and considering the Contact Program.

Footsteps of De La Salle – A Digital Pilgrimage

Based on an actual pilgrimage of the places in France where St. John Baptist de La Salle (the Patron Saint of Teachers and the Founder of the De La Salle Christian Brothers) walked and worked, this journey is the story of the educational movement that De La Salle and the first Brothers began in 1680 — an educational journey which is ongoing.
