Discern with Us

Explore God’s call in your life & Enter a time of discernment with us

Discernment is a process and is an intentional way of discovering how God is leading you to be the person you were meant to be.

A Life of Purpose, Rooted in God’s Love

We are all called to lives of holiness, to be witnesses of God’s love. Rooted in God’s call to each of us is a call to live a life of purpose, sharing our gifts and talents with others to build up our communities, Church and world.

There are a diversity of expressions of lived holiness and witnessing God’s love in our world, through a variety of vocational paths God has called individuals.

Our Invitation to You:

Deepen your relationship with Jesus and discern doing so in a community of men called to a shared life of evangelization through the ministry of education to young people.

Opportunities to Discern

We invite you to discern our Gospel life and community where the experience of God is shared as we are Brothers to one another and older Brothers to the young entrusted to our care.

In exploring your vocation with us you will have the opportunity to personally connect with a Brother, meet other men discerning their vocation as Brother, participate in service experiences at the heart of the mission and get a glimpse into the community life being Brothers together.

This accompaniment takes on different forms acknowledging your needs and reality including age, level of studies, employment and your personal situation, however core elements will include regular communications with the vocation director, or other Brother, learning about the religious life as Brother, the Lasallian mission and Brothers’ community life and ministry experience of educational service with the poor.

You will walk alongside Brothers and learn about the values and outlook that define being Brother and how you identify with their lifestyle. If you feel a desire to discern with us, connect with a vocation director.

Vocation Directors

“Where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”— (F. Buechner)

The role of the vocation director is to provide information on the nature of the Brother’s vocation in the Church and to help you to talk about your gifts and talents and how they relate to the values and demands of the life and mission of the Brother. This is normally done through a series of personal interviews and group meetings, with visits to local Brothers’ communities and by participation in educational ministries.
