Thank You!

...to all who participated in the First Regional Lasallian Art Contest.

There were 111 entries from 19 Lasallian schools, including one university. The judges uniformly commented on the difficulty of choosing among the entries and praised the variety of styles and the fine creative visions that were represented.

While only some could be chosen as winners right now, time will tell which images will become popular among Lasallian publications and graphics projects. All true artists know that the real value of their art lies within the creation of it. Winning the contest and/or seeing your work appear in unique places in the future are simply an added benefit.

Judging

There were thirteen judges who carefully examined all entries. They included Brothers and Lay Partners, men and women, artists and non-artists, most of them in the U.S., but also one Brother in South America and one Lay Partner in Egypt.

All the judges were asked to choose five top submissions and rate them from first to fifth, providing some comments if possible. The results were then compiled according to their relative ratings, following a point system. Some judges chose to pick fewer than five of the total submissions and others submitted entries that were tied.

The final point order was put together with the accumulated point totals shown after each name. You will note that the top entries are extremely close to one another in points.

Practically speaking, all of those on the top tiers achieved uniformly outstanding results.
