Judges Comments
- I thought that her unusual vertical composition worked very well. The beautiful engaging image of La Salle in the lower half is very human and almost Christ-like, and it can stand by itself. I liked also how she was able to use the background to give an historical sense and a narrative of his life.
- Unique head-on look of De La Salle. We usually see a side view!
- The image carries a typical watercolor richness of expression and a sort of luminosity. De La Salle is young, yet experienced and grounded, with just a hint of a knowing smile.
